Smart Searching for Discount Computer Equipment

discount computer equipmentAs many of you know, the Internet is filled with TONS of suppliers that sell discount computer equipment and that is why it is never a difficult thing to search for. The problem with this, however, is that the majority of these online suppliers are only interested in making a profit at the expense of the consumer. Since most of these companies do not have physical store locations or showrooms, they can stay somewhat anonymous and practice poor ethics. Most of the time, the consumer can see all of the red flags before even thinking about making a purchase, but this is not always the case.

First of all, there are a few online suppliers that I recommend shopping at for all of your discount computer equipment needs. Newegg.com, tigerdirect.com, and geeks.com are some of the most trusted websites in the industry. In the event that one of these websites does not have what you are looking for, then be sure to keep a few things in mind when ordering from an unfamiliar store. A secure checkout server is an absolute must, and most websites will make it apparent that they are using one. Also, remember to stay domestic. I have heard stories about international orders going wrong, and sometimes it is nothing but a shipping issue. Ordering locally will help you save money and you will feel much more assured that your order will be shipped successfully. Finally, never order from a website that is loaded with advertisements. This is almost always a sign of a business that is in financial trouble or is completely fake altogether. Be smart, and use your own discretion when purchasing computer products online.

An Amazing Website With Cheap Gaming Computers

cheap gaming computersPlaying computer games online requires a machine that is powerful, period. There is no excuse for having a computer that will produce lag and make your images choppy. This completely ruins the gaming experience, and that is why you should not have to settle for less.

Fortunately, there are websites out there that specialize in selling cheap gaming computers, and Cyber Power PC is one of the best in my opinion. This website, which is located at cyberpowerpc.com, has several different custom gaming computers that are in the price range of 500-1000 dollars. They also have some more expensive machines, which are certainly worth the money.

If you want to play high-end games and enjoy their amazing graphics and sound then I suggest that you look into buying the "Mega Special III". This machine comes with 2 GB of RAM, 320 GB of Hard Drive space, an NVIDIA GF 8500GT video card with 512 MB video RAM, and much more. It can also be shipped to your home for free. Be sure to check out this website if you are in the market for cheap gaming computers.

Looking For Cheap Computer Desks?

cheap computer desksFurniture Wholesalers has a wide variety of discount offers for cheap computer desks and some of these deals even come with free shipping. If you want something that functions like a cubicle, then this company has a straight workstation model that costs a little more than 900 dollars. There is also a cheap fold-and-go model that is perfect for people with small workspaces, and this model costs only $111.

Before purchasing a computer desk, you have to seriously consider how much time you will spend using it. If you occasionally use your computer for surfing the Internet and typing up documents then I do not recommend that you spend a whole lot of money on a desk. However, if you are one of the many people that must use their computer frequently in order to work or play games then you might want to drop a few extra dollars on something nice. L-shaped desks are very popular due to the fact that they provide a sufficient amount of workspace without taking up too much room. You can also spend a little bit more money on an executive-style desk that is sturdy and comfortable to sit at. To see these great deals visit www.furniturewholesalers.com and click on the link that says, "Computer Desks."

Cheap Computer Cases For Custom Machines

cheap computer casesIn most cases, a computer case is not something that should have to be replaced as a result of defects or wear and tear. This is probably the one part of the computer that will last a lifetime, but that does not mean that you can't ever get a new one. Many people who wish to expand their computer by purchasing larger motherboards that can accommodate more RAM and peripherals must also look for larger cases in some instances. Alienware is a manufacturer of custom cases that have very stylish designs, but these are not cheap computer cases for the average consumer.

If you are interested in finding cheap computer cases, then I suggest that you visit geeks.com. This online retailer has many different cases available, with the cheapest one costing 11 dollars and the most expensive one costing roughly 40 dollars. This website has cases for various types of motherboards, and they come in various colors as well. If you do not find what you are looking for at geeks.com, then you can always check Tiger Direct and NewEgg for some more choices.

Student Discounts on Computers and Software

student discounts on computersStudents that are enrolled in classes at a college or university are almost always eligible to purchase computer goods at very exclusive prices. This depends on the school itself, obviously, because some universities provide much better discounts than many community colleges or technical schools.

Something that has become a trend in recent years is for major universities to have an Apple Computer store located right on campus. For example, I know for a fact that Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL has a discount program for students that are interested in purchasing Apple or Mac products. These products can all be purchased at the SIU Apple Computer store, and the discounts that are provided are very generous as well.

Student discounts on computers can also sometimes be found on the Internet. Some computer hardware and software retailers have connections to various Universities in the U.S. where they can provide the same discounts without requiring the student to purchase directly from the school. Sometimes, websites for these retailers will not necessarily include information about student discounts and that is why you must occasionally contact the retailer directly for further details. In any case, this is certainly one of the excellent benefits that comes with attending college.

Some Information About Cheap Computer Monitors

cheap computer monitorsThe CRT monitor held its title as "top of the line" technology for quite some time. It was only until recent years when liquid crystal displays, or LCD monitors became the common choice. There are certainly plenty of advantages to having LCD monitors, with the main one being a size difference. Instead of having this huge box on your desk with a heavy tube inside of it, computer users now have screens that are no thicker than a couple inches in depth. LCD monitors are also a little easier on your eyes, and refresh rates are a thing of the past.

I recently purchased a used 15-inch ViewSonic LCD monitor from a private seller for 45 dollars. I will admit that video files looked a little better on my old tube monitor, but this is really the only complaint that I have. I now have more room on my desk, and I can work on my computer for longer periods of time without having to give my eyes frequent breaks.

If you take the approach that I did, you can find cheap computer monitors from private sellers by looking at advertisements on craigslist.org. Ebay is also a great place to check for this, and I also recommend Tiger Direct. Fry's Electronics in Arizona has a website that you can order products from, and they sell used LCD monitors at low prices as well.

Be Careful When Looking For A Cheap Computer

cheap computerI understand that while there are plenty of people who already know enough about computers that they can purchase them wisely, there is still a large population of individuals that are still in the dark about the whole subject. Hopefully, I can provide you with a few useful tips to remember for the next time that you are searching for an inexpensive or cheap computer.

As a result of the explosive popularity that Craigslist.org has seen in the last couple of years, it has become rather common for people to buy and sell computers privately. In most cases, the computer is probably in good shape and the seller simply wants to get rid of it. If you are planning on buying a computer from someone on Craigslist.org then there are a few basic rules to remember. Obviously, test the machine at the seller's location before you buy it. If he or she refuses to let you do this, which would be pretty bizarre, then don't hesitate to keep looking. I have heard of plenty of instances where a person's computer has acquired many different viruses, causing it to perform terribly, and then choosing to sell it rather than trying to fix it. In any case, I would recommend that you completely erase and format any hard drives that are in the machine. However, only do this if you are given the CD's that contain the operating system and the necessary startup software.

If you plan on using particular software programs with your next computer, then make sure that you get a machine that has more than enough power to run them. If your programs require a minimum of 256 MB of RAM, then get a computer that has 512 MB of RAM. Hard Drive space is equally important, but remember that you can always purchase an external hard drive in the event that you begin to run out of space. These precautions and tips may be obvious, but there is no doubt that they are very important and they can be easily overlooked.

Be Careful When Searching For Discount Software

discount softwareOne rule of thumb to remember when searching for discount software on the Internet is that you should always be certain that the company that you are dealing with is a licensed distributor. If you are going to cough up a few hundred dollars for a computer program, then you want to be sure that you are getting an original copy that you can register with your own name. On occasion, I have heard about some websites that sell software that is bootlegged or copied, and this is very illegal.

Believe it or not, Amazon.com is a great place to look for cheap software. I recently was in the market for Adobe Photoshop, and I was worried that I would have to buy the whole Adobe CS3 production suite from somewhere for thousands of dollars. Fortunately, I checked with Amazon.com and they were selling Adobe Photoshop 7 for $289. This is an older version, of course, and if I really wanted the newest version it would still only cost me $625.

If there is a particular program or software suite that you are interested in, then the first thing to do is visit the official website for the company that makes that software. At the website, you will be able to find a list of the different retailers and distributors that sell the program that you are interested in.

A Couple Ways To Buy Cheap Gaming Computers

cheap gaming computersDuring most of this video game age, computer games have stood out more than the versions that can be bought for regular consoles. The obvious reason for this is the fact that a desktop computer is much more powerful than a Sony Playstation or a Super Nintendo, and therefore has much better video and sound capabilities. I will admit, though, that it looks like consoles are starting to catch up with desktop machines, but this does not mean that the computer gaming industry will necessarily die.

In order to play a video game on your computer and actually enjoy it to its fullest potential, you need some high-end hardware. Companies like Alienware, CyberPower and Xi build some of the best desktop computers for gaming but these are very expensive. If you want to find cheap gaming computers, you have a couple of options. Of course, the most cost-effective way to purchase a gaming computer is to build it yourself. However, for those of you who are not able to do this, you can look at some of the pre-assembled machines that are at tigerdirect.com. Tiger Direct has a few different CyberPower gaming PC's in the price range of $680 to $760, and they appear to have the necessary capabilities needed for intense computer gaming. Nextag.com is also a good place to check for sweet deals, but this might require you to bid on the item depending on whether it is being auctioned off or sold normally.

If you want something that is pre-assembled and ready to go, then I would suggest saving a little bit of money and buying from Tiger Direct. These computers will certainly get the job done, and they are not nearly as expensive as some of the high-end CyberPower and Alienware machines.
